Who Are Our Trainers?

The ORC is very lucky to have highly skilled and qualified trainers to assist in providing training sessions. If you would like to schedule a session on a day when the ORC Coordinator is already booked, we are happy to send one of our fabulous trainers in the ORC Coordinator's place. Erin Hansen

Picture
Erin Hansen has been teaching for over 19 years, and has spent 13 of those years as a teacher-librarian. She is passionate about information literacy instruction, enabling learners to efficiently and effectively find information so they may explore and understand their world.
 
Erin has extensive education related to information literacy, including a Bachelor’s of Education in science and English, a Master’s degree in Information Literacy and Adult Education, and a diploma in Applied Information Technology.
 
Her experience in the education sector reaches from the school to government levels. Her roles have included Senior Education Specialist, a director for the Alberta School Library Council, Manager for Literacy, Numeracy and School Libraries with Alberta Education, and an AISI Learning Leader. She has led resource reviews and selections for a major urban school board, was on a focus group for the creation of Leading Learning: Standards of Practice for School Library Learning Commons in Canada, and has extensive boots-on-the ground experience working with students and staff in schools from pre-K to grade 12.

In addition to her work with the ORC, Erin is currently on the board of directors of and a reviewer for the children’s book review journal Resource Links.
