Ways to use TrueFLIX in the Library Learning Commons

Library Reading Centre

Inevitably there are always students who are finished making their selections early in the library period. Many times they are encouraged to sit quietly and read with varied success. If you have iPads, tablets or laptops/computers in your library setting why not set up a reading centre? TrueFLIX can be preloaded on the device(s) to facilitate independent access.  Make sure you have headphones available or better yet have students bring their headphones to library with them.

If you have any of the True Books series books, you can display these by your reading centre to make the link for your students between digital and print.

Guided Inquiry Support

If you have division II students coming in to the library to find resources for their inquiry projects TrueFLIX offers some wonderful support to struggling readers. The embedded real-voice read aloud feature allows for any learner, regardless of their reading ability to pull information from the book.

In addition, if you have teachers requesting books on a specific topic, why not include suggestions from TrueFLIX to include with the print from your library?
